Tailored Microsoft Copilot training that turned curiosity into daily AI use
Despite strong management ambitions to use AI strategically, day-to-day adoption inside the company was very low. Microsoft Copilot was available but rarely used, and teams across design, sales, service, and operations had no shared understanding of where AI could realistically help in their work. Without lifting baseline AI fluency, every other AI initiative - from the installed-base programme to future automation - would struggle to land.
We designed and delivered a tailored Copilot training programme anchored in the company's real workflows. The programme combined hands-on workshops, role-specific use cases for sales, design, service, and operations, and a structured before/after self-assessment so participants and management could see progress. Employees were guided through concrete tasks - analysing product sheets, drafting supplier emails, working with Excel and SOLIDWORKS, navigating contracts, generating PowerPoint, scheduling, and even building lightweight Copilot agents that dive into internal documentation.
Self-reported AI competence rose by 69% on average, and Copilot usage by 63%, with several employees moving from once-a-week to daily use. The programme has unlocked broader experimentation - including custom Copilot agents for documentation - and laid the cultural foundation that makes downstream AI initiatives, like the Installed Base programme, easier to adopt and scale across the business.
