How industry mines cut ventilation energy through demand-based control

Tracking and sensors match air to activity in real time. Energy falls while air quality standards are maintained.

Context

Ventilation systems consumed high levels of energy and needed to maintain strict air-quality requirements. Traditional fixed ventilation patterns were inefficient and did not align with real-time operational activity.

Solution

A demand-based control system was deployed using sensors and analytics to adjust airflow continuously. Airflow was delivered only to areas where activity triggered ventilation needs.

Results

The system produced lower energy use and a safer work environment, improving airflow distribution based on actual underground conditions.

Data Inputs

Tracking, gas, airflow sensors
